An easy appetizer, these Mexican-inspired spiced nuts are quick to make! Full of flavor, they also work great as a snacking option and are sure to be a crowd-pleaser. With a prep time of just 15 minutes, you can let the oven do most of the hard work. Why not give it a go and try this recipe on your next home movie night?

Ingredient List

  • 1 egg white, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon from 1 jar Mezco™ Sweet & Smoky Spice Blend
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups assorted raw nuts (almonds, cashews, walnuts, pepitas)

Preparation

  1. Heat oven to 300°F. Spray 15x10x1-inch pan with cooking spray. In large bowl, beat egg white, sugar, spice blend and salt with fork until mixture is frothy. With rubber spatula, fold in nuts until evenly coated. Spread mixture evenly in pan.
  2. Bake 35 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until coating on nuts thickens and turns golden brown. Cool completely in pan, about 30 minutes; coating on nuts will harden as nuts cool. Store in tightly covered container.
